Green Haven is a family owned and operated retail garden centre, greenhouse and gift store. It was established in 1977 by Irvin and Lyla Leishner. Irvin was working full-time as detective sergeant for the Lethbridge City Police and Lyla was a loans officer for CIBC.

They felt the need to start a garden centre and greenhouse business in the Lethbridge area to give them an opportunity to retire from their professions at a young age but still continue to be productive in a self-employed business. Two of their daughters, Karen and Gail began working for the business as soon as it opened and are now part owners/managers.

The greenhouse part of the business has been growing in size and number of products for the last 40 years. Currently, Green Haven has one large retail greenhouse with nine more single houses for production totalling 40,000 square feet of growing area for bedding plants.

We carry a great selection of hardy trees, shrubs, perennials and flower bulbs suitable for southern Alberta's climate. A wide range of beautiful bedding plants, hanging baskets and patio planters are grown onsite in our greenhouses. There is also an abundance of indoor tropical and flowering plants available year round; perfect for your home or office.

Today, we specialize in unique giftware, jewellery and accessories and carry a fabulous selection of seasonal home decor and wall art. To beautify your outdoor living space, we carry fountains, statuary, garden decor and outdoor furniture. In the early winter months, we transition into an enchanting Christmas wonderland featuring a vast array of themed ornaments, decor and giftware, as well as fresh Christmas trees and outdoor greenery planters. We are open year-round, seven days a week and look forward to seeing you soon!
